W.H. ‘Has Each Energy to Disregard’ Parliamentarian on Minimal Wage Improve

On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Final Phrase,” Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) acknowledged that the White Home “has each energy to ignore” the Senate parliamentarian’s determination if the parliamentarian guidelines {that a} $15 minimal wage can’t be handed via finances reconciliation.

Khanna mentioned, “There isn’t a provision within the Structure that claims that the Senate parliamentarian has any energy. And Ron Klain is a superb constitutional lawyer. He is aware of that the vice chairman has this determination. And in 1975, Vice President Rockefeller disregarded the recommendation of the Senate parliamentarian once they really lowered the edge on the filibuster from 67 votes to 60 votes. And Robert Dove, a Senate parliamentarian, who I do know you respect since you served within the Senate, has mentioned many instances that individuals have disregarded the parliamentarian’s ruling. So we must always simply be trustworthy with people. If there are political causes that the White Home doesn’t wish to disregard the parliamentarian, for no matter purpose, then simply come out and say that. However no,  that is the choice that the White Home has. The vice chairman has each energy to ignore that call.”
