Twitter backtracks on Indiana AG Todd Rokita’s election fraud tweet
Twitter has reversed course on an exercise ban that it positioned on a tweet from Indiana Legal professional Basic Todd Rokita implying that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump.
Twitter customers can now reply, retweet, and like Rokita’s tweet.
On Monday Twitter banned all exercise on the tweet, which contained a Valentine’s Day meme of a cartoon portrait of Donald Trump with the textual content “You stole my coronary heart such as you stole the 2020 election.” Rokita posted it on his private Twitter account.
The social media firm positioned a banner on the backside of the tweet that mentioned exercise was banned “attributable to a threat of violence.” That banner is now not there.
Rokita issued a press release Monday after the ban saying that the meme was “tongue in cheek”, however added that “a number of left-leaning states” performed elections in violation of the U.S. Structure.
