Google CEO Apologizes For Firm Dealing with Of Firing Black Worker | Nationwide



Google CEO Sundar Pichai is apologizing for his firm’s handing of the termination of its chief Synthetic Intelligence (AI) researcher, a Black girl who raised issues about racism in algorithms.

Pichai, in a memo revealed Axios, claimed Dr. Timnit Gebru was not fired as she has claimed, however pledged to analyze the occasions that led to her departure and “work to revive” their belief.

“I’ve heard the response to Dr. Gebru’s departure loud and clear: it seeded doubts and led some in our group to query their place at Google,” the memo reads. “I need to say how sorry I’m for that, and I settle for the duty of working to revive your belief.”
