Button to race for personal staff in Excessive E electrical collection


Former Method One world champion Jenson Button will race for his personal staff when the brand new Excessive E off-road all-electric collection begins later this 12 months, the Briton mentioned on Monday.

Each staff within the collection, which goals to boost consciousness about local weather change racing in a few of the world’s most distant and harsh environments, will need to have a male and a feminine driver. Button’s teammate will probably be introduced sooner or later.

“I am delighted to announce I will probably be becoming a member of Excessive E for the inaugural season with my staff jbxeracing. Cannot wait to get my fingers on the Excessive E beast,” Button, who received his Method One title with Brawn GP in 2009, wrote on Twitter.

Rivals will embody groups owned Method One champions Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

The collection, which is run Method E founder Alejandro Agag, is scheduled to start in April after its opening race in Saudi Arabia was pushed again two weeks.

Rounds can even be held in Senegal, Greenland, the Brazilian rainforest and Argentine glaciers of Tierra del Fuego.
